The first meeting of the first Dog Scout troop in Iowa was held today in Dubuque. Dog Scouts of America is a national non-profit organization that exists to improve the lives of dogs, their owners and society through humane education, positive training and community involvement.
![]() Iowa Dog Scout Opal was over the moon excited to receive lots of positive reinforcement from members of a local Boy Scout Explorer group tonight who came to learn about positive reinforcement dog training! Cindy Ludwig talked to students at Loras College in the "Go Dog Go" J-term class today for the third consecutive year since the course began in 2011. She talked to the students about clicker training as a precise and versatile method of animal training based on effective communication and Opal demonstrated some of her service dog tasks. The "Go Dog Go" course is an elective course open to all college majors that runs for three weeks every January.
Canine Connection owner, Cindy Ludwig was a guest on Paula Sands Live, KWQC in Davenport, Iowa where she discussed dog training and provided a brief explanation of reward-based clicker training.
