Cindy Ludwig, B.S. (Science), M.A.(Higher and Adult Education), KPA-CTP is the only Karen Pryor Academy graduate and Certified Training Partner in eastern Iowa and the tri-state area. She is the only trainer in Iowa that is a member of the Truly Dog-Friendly Coalition of force-free trainers and the only trainer in eastern Iowa who has completed the Purdue University Principles and Techniques of Behavior Modification course for veterinarians, veterinary technicians and certified trainers.
The American College of Veterinary Behaviorists (ACVB) and The American Veterinary Society of Animal Behavior (AVSAB) have long advised against trainers who use shock, choke chains, leash corrections and other forms of force-based trainers. Now the American College of Veterinary Behaviorists has issued guidelines for veterinarians in selecting trainers to whom to refer their clients. Cindy and Ginger traveled to Peosta to teach pre-schoolers in the morning and school age children later in the evening about safety around dogs. Ginger is always a big hit and loves her work as a therapy dog!
As part of the American Kennel Club (AKC) Responsible Dog Ownership Days, Cindy and Ginger talked to a group of about 25 pre-schoolers in Epworth about how to be safe around dogs.
