Cindy and Opal did a presentation at the Farley branch of the Dubuque County Library which included a discussion of dog training and safety tips and a demonstration of some of Opal's repertoire of service dog tasks and just fun tricks. Members of the audience participated in the tricks and asked great questions! ![]() Opal enjoyed some positive reinforcement from the crowd following the presentation! Cindy gave a talk about how to select a dog and where, and common dog behavior problems this afternoon at Asbury Eagles Club as part of a state-wide event coordinated by Bailing Out Benji to help educate the public about puppy mills. If you missed it, there will be additional programs coming up this month on dog training tips provided in cooperation with the Dubuque County Library. October is Adopt A Shelter Dog month, so please consider getting your next pet at a humane society or animal rescue.
Canine Connection owner, Cindy Ludwig and special education teacher, Jennifer Schauer teamed up to present a program about therapy dogs and service dogs at Jefferson Middle School on Wednesday, September 26 and Monday, October 8 featuring Opal, Certified Service Dog and Wrigley, Canine Connection Certified Therapy Dog. The kids loved it and asked great questions!
Cindy Ludwig, Karen Pryor Academy Certified Training Partner and owner of Canine Connection in Dubuque has been personally invited by company CEO to serve as dog training advisor on the new online expert advice site, ExpertBooth. Rates are very reasonable.
Cindy and Ginger attended at two-day seminar in Chicago taught by Nosework founder, Jill-Marie O'Brien to learn how to teach and compete in Nosework. Ginger loved it!
